Process Controls Engineer

We are currently seeking an Automation Engineer with a deep understanding of Automation Controls and their application in the Food Processing Industry. Proficiency in traditional PLC and Model Predictive Controls is a must.

This challenging role involves approximately 35% travel to oversee the implementation of new solutions.

Requirements

  • Hold an AS or BS degree in Engineering
  • Possess experience as an Electrical Engineer
  • Demonstrate understanding of Process Dynamics in relation to temperatres, time, and product characteristics
  • Knowledge of Process Disturbances, Mean, and Standard Deviation is a plus
  • Proven experience programming PLC systems from scratch (specifically RedLion, Allen Bradley & Siemens)
  • Familiarity with continuous process environments
  • Experience creating Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SCADA, or MES systems is preferred
  • Comprehension of Fluid and Temperature dynamics
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Devise and review automation and network strategies for our state-of-the-art equipment
  • Streamline processes to enhance performance and quality in the Food and Snack Industry
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Project teams to secure new business by offering expert advice on costing, design, and controls
  • Design or supervise the design of PLC and Predictive Model Control solutions
  • Oversee system commissioning and provide comprehensive training to operators and plant engineers on equipment and system controls
  • Travel approximately 35% of the time
