Indirect Procurement Contractor – Strategic Sourcing
Location: Pittsburgh, PA | Hybrid

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement, the Indirect Procurement Contractor – Strategic Sourcing will play a pivotal role in leading strategic sourcing and category management activities, primarily focused on Corporate Services. This position may also extend to managing spend in areas such as IT, Corporate Services, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations). The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sourcing initiatives, optimizing supplier performance, and contributing to enterprise-wide cost reduction goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, multi-year sourcing strategies for assigned categories.

  • Lead cross-functional sourcing projects, collaborating closely with end users and business stakeholders.

  • Analyze spend data to uncover opportunities for supplier diversity, emphasizing partnerships with local and regional vendors.

  • Engage proactively with internal teams to understand current and future business needs, building a strategic project pipeline.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, positioning procurement as a strategic partner in managing third-party spend.

  • Deliver measurable cost reductions and improved total cost of ownership within managed categories.

  • Manage the end-to-end RFP process, from development through to contract award.

  • Oversee supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, onboarding, and performance monitoring to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

  • Monitor supplier scorecards and key metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Leverage e-sourcing platforms and spend analysis tools to identify savings opportunities.

  • Provide industry benchmarks and market intelligence to inform sourcing decisions.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance sourcing efficiency and effectiveness.

Scope & Decision-Making:
This role requires independent management of key deliverables and timelines, handling moderately complex to advanced assignments. The successful candidate will rely on their deep category knowledge and sound decision-making skills, while seeking leadership guidance when addressing higher-level strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing services and/or materials.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing key stakeholders.

  • Comfortable operating within a large, matrixed organization.

  • Advanced negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing multi-year category strategies.

  • Highly analytical with experience in project management and driving organizational change.

  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to increasing supplier diversity and inclusion.

  • Experience with Maximo or comparable ERP systems strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Power Advocate or similar e-sourcing and spend analysis tools is a plus.
