Qualifications

Minimum education: B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
Experience: Over 5 years in manufacturing and/or Supply Chain
Responsibilities
Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining the master production schedule for assigned value streams to ensure achievement of production plans
Analyze material loading and scheduling to optimize machine efficiency, set-ups, and inventory levels, and ensure timely and complete order fulfillment
Distribute and verify daily and weekly finite schedules and plans for adherence
Balance inventory and machine order levels to achieve on-time and complete order fulfillment efficiently and optimally
Meet on-time delivery goals and consistently meet customer needs
Maintain accurate inventory through inventory management best practices, including cycle counts and verification of raw materials
Communicate all schedules and changes that affect product flow to relevant personnel
Ensure effective and professional inter-company communication
Influence colleagues in all organizational directions to help achieve department goals
Demonstrate knowledge of capacities, cycles, and bottlenecks for value streams
Demonstrate knowledge of material flow and product types to optimize performance
Become the person most knowledgeable about scheduling and inventory systems and tools to make the voice of the customer visible on the plant floor
Handle backup work from other Production Schedulers as needed
Align actions with department vision, mission, and values
Regularly use lean tools and daily management systems to identify and address problems
Utilize root cause problem solving to prevent recurring issues
Job Description
Large metal manufacturer in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler. This role is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining the master production schedule for assigned value streams to ensure production plans are achieved. The individual will analyze material loading and scheduling to optimize machine efficiency, set-ups, and inventory levels, as well as ensure timely and complete order fulfillment. Responsibilities include distributing and verifying daily and weekly finite schedules and plans, balancing inventory and machine order levels, meeting on-time delivery goals, maintaining accurate inventory, communicating schedules and changes, and positively influencing the organization. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of capacities, cycles, and bottlenecks for value streams, understand material flow and product types, and be proficient in scheduling and inventory systems. A B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience is required, and lean or Six Sigma training is a plus. The candidate should have at least 7 years of experience in manufacturing and/or Supply Chain. Join us where the future is bright!
