This position requires a 4 year degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered plus:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the poultry industry, including 3 years in operations management.
  2. At least 1 year of experience in debone operations.
  3. Familiarity with various industry accepted procedures such as HACCP and SPC, as well as knowledge of plant efficiency metrics such as yield, lbs/birds pmh, line speeds, and automatic processing equipment.
  4. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive results.
  5. Strong problem-solving abilities at both strategic and functional levels.
  6. Experience in supervising and identifying training needs for the operation and associates.
  7. Commitment to prioritizing the safety of associates and achieving goals.
The Production Superintendent will assume responsibility for overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of the debone department during 1st shift. They will provide guidance, training, and coaching to Production Supervisors, as well as indirectly leading hourly production associates. The main objective will be to achieve company-established production goals while ensuring a safe and secure working environment in accordance with approved processes. Additionally, the Production Superintendent will foster positive working relationships with the production and support staff, positioning the company as the employer of choice. Specifically, this position:
  1. Evaluates and manages departmental operating budgets to maintain the operation's competitive position in the industry.
  2. Ensures compliance with departmental operational plans to meet yield, birds per man hour, pounds per man-hour, line efficiency, CSI, and QI requirements.
  3. Develops processes to reduce turnover and improve safety outcomes, as measured by the Safety Scorecard, fostering an environment that attracts and retains top talent.
  4. Establishes training programs to enhance supervisory skills and improve the skill set of hourly production associates, maximizing individual and team performance.
