Production Superintendent – Debone

Location: Lewiston Woodville, NC
The position of Production Foreman - Debone is available at our facility in Lewiston Woodville, NC. As the Production Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the debone department on the first shift. You will provide guidance, training, and coaching to the Production Supervisors, as well as indirectly to the hourly production associates. It will be your duty to achieve the production goals set by the company and maintain a safe working environment for all associates, following company-approved processes.
  1. Develop and implement departmental operating budgets that enable the operation to maintain a competitive position in the industry. Take responsibility for measuring and being accountable for the established budgets.
  2. Meet all operational plans for the department, ensuring that yield, birds per man hour, pounds per man hour, line efficiency, CSI, and QI requirements are consistently met.
  3. Implement processes to reduce turnover, improve safety results (as measured by the Safety Scorecard), and create an environment that sets our facility as the Employer of Choice in the area.
  4. Establish processes that focus on providing continuous training to enhance the supervisory skills of staff and improve the skill set of hourly production associates. Maximize individual and team efforts through effective training methods.
Required qualifications for this position include a 4-year degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered). Additionally, you should have:
  1. At least 5 years of experience in the poultry industry, with 3 years in operations management.
  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience in debone operations.
  3. Familiarity with industry-accepted procedures such as HACCP and SPC, as well as knowledge of plant efficiency in terms of yield, lbs/birds pmh, line speeds, and automatic processing equipment.
  4. A proven ability to lead and achieve results through effective people management.
  5. The capability to analyze and resolve problems at both strategic and functional levels.
  6. The skills to supervise and identify training needs for both the operation and associates, along with the willingness to support and develop them.
  7. A strong commitment to prioritizing the safety of associates above all else while still achieving organizational goals.
