Production Superintendent – Poultry Processing

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Poultry Processing Supervisor at our facility in Lewiston Woodville, NC. As the Production Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of our marination department on the 1st shift. Your responsibilities will include providing direction, training, and coaching to our Production Supervisors, as well as indirectly to our hourly production associates. You will be accountable for achieving our company's production goals and creating a safe working environment for all associates by implementing company-approved processes. Your ability to foster a positive working relationship with the production and support staff will be key in making our company the employer of choice.
  1. Establish, measure, and be accountable for departmental operating budgets in order to maintain our competitive position in the industry.
  2. Meet all departmental operational plans to ensure that yield, birds per man hour, pounds per man hour, line efficiency, and quality control requirements are met.
  3. Implement processes to reduce turnover, improve safety, and create an environment that makes our facility the employer of choice in the area.
  4. Continuously provide training to improve the supervisory skills of our staff and enhance the skill set of our hourly production associates to maximize individual and team efforts.
This position requires a preferred 4-year degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field. However, equivalent experience will also be considered. In addition to the degree/experience requirement, you must have:
  1. At least 5 years of experience in the poultry industry, with a minimum of 3 years in operations management.
  2. 1+ years of experience in marination.
  3. Familiarity with various industry-accepted procedures, including HACCP, SPC, etc., as well as plant efficiency in terms of yield, pounds per bird, line speeds, and automatic processing equipment.
  4. A demonstrated ability to lead and deliver results.
  5. An analytical mindset to effectively resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
  6. The ability to supervise and identify training needs for our operation and associates, and a willingness to support and develop them.
  7. A commitment to prioritizing the safety of our associates above all else while still achieving goals.
