Production Superintendent


Ø Safety

· Demonstrate commitment to safety by maintaining a personal safety mindset on the shop floor during all shifts.

· Enforce the use of safe work practices and behaviors outlined in the Safety Manual and comply with the Life Saving Rules.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM standards, including employee participation, management of change, and PM items.

· Participate in plant safety committee and lead incident investigations.

· Ensure prompt completion of corrective actions within 10 days after an event.

· Manage proper handling of hazardous and nonhazardous wastes generated in all departments.

· Promote good housekeeping standards and 5S practices.

· Production Management

· Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all site operations units by effectively allocating resources and staffing them adequately.

· Sustain production schedule attainment and achieve productivity targets while troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.

· Ensure efficient outage planning and maximize plant uptime through coordination between production, maintenance, and project work.

· Manage physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods.

· Monitor process order costs and explain adjustments and variances.

· Approve new recipes in SAP and maintain standard operating procedures and associate training.

Ø Quality

· Investigate quality and customer incidents to prevent recurrence.

· Review new recipes with a critical eye toward QC test applicability prior to manufacture.

· Support ISO certification with responsible internal/external personnel.

· Drive sustainable quality improvements on a product-by-product basis in coordination with the QA department.

Ø Human Resources

· Manage personnel and process issues by being visible and available.

· Empower and engage area teams to implement changes and improvements in their operating areas.

· Lead hiring process for recruiting technicians to maintain effective staffing levels.

· Assess associate performance and provide developmental opportunities as appropriate.

· Ensure proper certification training for manufacturing operators to perform their duties safely and competently.

Recognize reliable performance and provide corrective feedback as needed for a professional and respectful workplace culture.

Ensure adherence to HR and company policies at the site.

Ø Other

Complete assigned tasks from Leadership.

Act as the Site Leader in their absence.

v Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.

v Minimum Qualifications

§ Minimum five (5) years of experience managing and leading others in chemical processing or a related field.

§ Strong organizational, supervisory, and motivational skills.

§ Analytical and team building abilities with a self-starter mentality.

§ Strong leadership, change management, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate emergency situations effectively.

v Preferred Qualifications

§ Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of process equipment with excellent troubleshooting skills.

§ Formal training in management and supervision of people, and experience with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing principles.
