Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Location: Johnson City, TN
Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to join our team as a Production Supervisor - 2nd shift in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Primary Function
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the manufacturing department and ensuring that the daily production schedules are met. You will supervise and coordinate the activities of leaders and workers, ensuring adherence to manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will collaborate with operators, engineers, and quality personnel to identify and resolve potential customer issues.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for leaders and operators.
  • Create a safe workplace by involving employees in safety initiatives.
  • Develop and implement plans to motivate workers and achieve work goals.
  • Complete employee time, absenteeism, and vacation paperwork or systems in a timely manner.
  • Foster positive relations with employees through effective communication of company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and implement cross-training programs, manufacturing training programs, and departmental rotation plans.
  • Inspect products to ensure compliance with specifications and analyze non-conformances to determine root cause and implement corrective procedures.
Role Specific Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct leaders to efficiently meet production schedules using available manpower.
  • Complete and utilize all manufacturing forms and paperwork.
  • Take responsibility for following up on maintenance issues.
  • Ensure proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment, while following safety policies and guidelines and maintaining a well-organized work area.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience or training
  • 1-2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing and supervision
  • Ability to analyze various metrics and reports, and make informed decisions based on the findings
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, leadership skills, understanding of basic human resources principles, and knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Experience in the water heater manufacturing industry is preferred.
Education
  • Associate Degree
