Production Supervisor – 3rd shift

Job Title: Shift Production Manager – Openings on 1st and 3rd Shift
Location: Wakefield, NE
Salary: $60-70K with bonus opportunities
Summary of the Shift Production Manager role: As a Shift Production Manager, your responsibilities will include planning, overseeing, and coordinating the production activities for manufacturing food products. It will be your duty to ensure that the production meets safety, quality, quantity, and cost specifications.

Qualifications for the Shift Production Manager position:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Prior experience in the food manufacturing industry is essential.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Strong coordination and supervision skills across all department functions.
• Strong preference for bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure manuals in English.
• Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Effective communication skills, both in groups and one-on-one.
• Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills, with the ability to direct, train, and motivate department personnel.
• Capable of problem-solving, investigating, and taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Willingness to work in challenging environments, including cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid areas.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and collaborate with others to accomplish tasks.
• Self-motivated, with a willingness to seek guidance and ask questions when needed.
Responsibilities of the Shift Production Manager:
• Ensure the production of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost, adhering to best manufacturing practices.
• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, minimizing their impact on production.
• Coordinate with maintenance, sanitation, and other staff to achieve production, safety, and warehouse goals.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration among departments.
• Manage ingredient usage and control department costs.
• Maintain accurate records, including timecards, downtime reports, and absenteeism records.
• Enforce company policies consistently and fairly.
• Encourage employee suggestions for improving production, quality, safety, and cost control.
• Keep management informed regarding operational, employee, quality, safety, and cost-related matters.
• Conduct regular department meetings and maintain ongoing communication.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Take personal responsibility for creating a safe and healthy workplace, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Follow Quality work practices, adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintain sanitary conditions, and report any practices that may impact food safety and quality to management.
