Production Supervisor – 3rd shift

Job Title: Production Supervisor – 3rd shift openings
Location: Wakefield, Nebraska
Salary: $60-70K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Production Supervisor: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing of food products during the night shift. They will plan, direct, and coordinate work activities and allocate necessary resources to ensure the production is carried out in accordance with safety, cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Qualifications of Production Supervisor:
• A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing is necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience is preferred.
• The ability to effectively coordinate and supervise all department functions is essential.
• Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English is required.
• Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees of the organization.
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Able to direct, train, and motivate department personnel.
• Capable of recognizing problem situations, investigating, and taking appropriate steps to resolve them.
• Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid environments.
• Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
• Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending upon the assignment.
• Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.
Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
• Ensures the production of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost while adhering to good manufacturing practices.
• Provides a safe work environment for all personnel.
• Identifies and resolves operating problems to minimize their impact on operations.
• Requests and coordinates services of maintenance, sanitation, and other personnel as necessary to achieve desired level and quality of production, sanitation, safety, and warehouse services.
• Maintains a harmonious work relationship with all departments.
• Responsible for ingredient usage and department cost management.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records, such as timecards, downtime records, and absentee records.
• Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
• Encourages employee suggestions to improve production, quality, safety, and cost control.
• Keeps management informed about operating and employee problems, quality, safety, and cost control of production.
• Facilitates regular communications and monthly department meetings.
• Follows and ensures compliance with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s).
• Takes personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and incorporates safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adheres to quality work practices, follows GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), maintains sanitary conditions, and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality to management.
