Program Director- Vocational/Practical Nursing Program
Department: Academic Administration
Key Duties: Responsible for managing and overseeing the Vocational/Practical Nursing Program in Sacramento, CA. This includes the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of program activities. Works closely with the Administrative Nursing Director and Chief Academic Officer to implement special projects.
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategies to enhance the program's effectiveness
Prepares necessary documents and reports for state and Nursing Board requirements
Ensures compliance with BVNPT regulations and promptly reports faculty changes to the Board
Identifies and secures resources for the nursing program
Establishes and enforces program policies and procedures
Participates in committees and serves as a liaison to the community
Oversees the admission process and orientation of students
Builds and maintains educational partnerships with clinical sites
Conducts thorough assessments of clinical sites and ensures student safety
Collects evaluations from students, clinical sites, and faculty after each rotation
Manages and updates clinical contracts
Assists in faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation
Facilitates regular faculty meetings and maintains accurate records
Monitors the quality of instruction and contributes to program review and planning
Provides support and guidance to potential students
Ensures students are properly prepared for clinical rotations
Participates in the recruitment and admission of nursing students
Oversees graduation requirements and licensing exam preparations
Contributes to Nursing Advisory Committee meetings
Engages in professional development and maintains CE hours
Stays updated on State rules and regulations pertaining to Vocational Nursing

Education and Experience:
Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in California
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school
Minimum of three years of registered nurse experience (at least one year in teaching or clinical supervision) or three years of nursing administration/education experience within the last five years
Completion of a relevant course or courses in administration, teaching, and curriculum development

Position Status:
This position is full-time, requiring approximately 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
BSN degree and active RN License or higher
Minimum of 3 years of direct Nursing experience as an RN
Preferred:
1-3 years of leadership experience
1-3 years of experience as a Nursing Instructor (Vocational Nursing or RN)
