Program Director- Vocational/Practical Nursing Program
Department: Academic Administration
Key Responsibilities: The Vocational Nursing Program Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities of the nursing program, including development, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. They will collaborate with the Administrative Nursing Director and Chief Academic Officer on various program-related matters and special projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive plans for the program's success
Prepare necessary reports, proposals, and surveys to comply with state and Nursing Board regulations
Ensure compliance with BVNPT regulations, including timely reporting of faculty terminations
Identify and secure external resources for the nursing program
Establish and enforce program policies and procedures
Contribute to committees and collaborate with stakeholders
Oversee the admission process and conduct informative orientations
Serve as a liaison between the college and the community
Foster educational partnerships with clinical sites
Evaluate clinical sites for safety and effectiveness
Collect evaluations from students, clinical sites, and faculty for review
Maintain and update clinical contracts
Assist in faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation
Facilitate regular faculty meetings and maintain records
Schedule faculty for courses and clinical sites
Monitor instruction quality and participate in program evaluation
Provide guidance and support to potential students
Orient students to nursing skills lab and clinical facilities
Contribute to the recruitment and admission planning process
Ensure students meet graduation and licensing requirements
Participate in Nursing Advisory Committee meetings
Engage in professional development and maintain CE hours
Stay updated on State rules and regulations related to Vocational Nursing practice

Education and Experience:
Must possess a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school
Have at least three years of experience as a registered nurse, with one year in teaching or clinical supervision within the last five years; or have three years of experience in nursing administration or education within the last five years
Completed courses in administration, teaching, and curriculum development from an approved school

Position Status:
This is a full-time position requiring approximately 40 hours per week at the institution.
Requirements:
Hold a BSN - RN License or higher
Possess at least 3 years of direct nursing experience as an RN
Preferred:
Have 1-3 years of leadership experience
Have 1-3 years of experience as a Nursing Instructor (Vocational Nursing or RN)
