Program Manager (engineeing)

Location: Orangeburg, SC

Oversee and develop intricate manufacturing processes within an industrial facility. As the Engineering Project Manager, you will take on complete technical accountability for organizing and carrying out independent engineering projects to support manufacturing operations, including machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating, planning, coordinating, and executing New Product Introductions (NPIs) for our Orangeburg location
  • Managing activities, schedules, resources, budgets, and effectively communicating with a cross-functional team consisting of manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, materials, and production throughout the implementation process.
  • Providing advanced advisory support in the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of manufacturing operations.
  • Conceiving and planning projects involving major production activities, exploring product and process issues, and defining and selecting innovative concepts and approaches for manufacturing operations.
  • Conducting independent technical investigations applying complex technical principles.
  • Evaluating test and production data, preparing technical analyses, and recommending manufacturing methods and processes to meet design goals for new or improved products and processes.
  • Coordinating complex technical matters related to assembly drawing interpretation, Engineering Change Notices, rework, and resolving manufacturing difficulties and specifications.
  • Serving as a liaison with other departments to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.
  • Selecting and managing the activities of contractors to ensure seamless integration into the project and satisfactory service standards for the organization.
  • Conducting project meetings and preparing reports to communicate project status to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Participating in or leading various projects as needed, which may involve manufacturing capacity, cost reduction initiatives, productivity improvements, or other business objectives
  • Serving as the primary advocate for optimizing product design for manufacturing, requiring extensive knowledge of all platforms and product offerings
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding the practical application of engineering science and technology is essential.
  • Proficiency in analytical and CAD software is expected.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models is required.
  • Familiarity or ability to acquire familiarity with all assembly and fabrication processes at all residential facilities is necessary in order to provide input for design and manufacturing optimization.
  • Detail-oriented to effectively track project schedules and capital expenditure
  • Ability to multitask, as multiple projects and responsibilities will be ongoing simultaneously
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multiple teams and responsibilities, and influence groups to work towards shared objectives
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
