Compensation & Benefits:

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead bridge design, rehabilitation, and load rating projects across multiple jurisdictions

  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff on multi-disciplinary projects

  • Manage multiple assignments, including bridge inspections and design efforts across the Mid-Atlantic, with a focus on Delaware

  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and other documentation

  • Support proposal development including scopes of work and level-of-effort estimates

  • Collaborate with clients to resolve technical challenges and support long-term partnerships

  • Participate in project management activities if desired

  • Contribute to a strong team culture of learning, accountability, and performance


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

  • PE license required

  • 7–10 years of experience in bridge engineering

  • Strong command of AASHTO and DOT design criteria (DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, DCDOT, PennDOT)

  • Proficiency with design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler, InRoads, GeoPak, SAP2000, STAAD, LEAP Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, BRASS, etc.

  • Experience producing design plans and specifications using MicroStation

  • Proven ability to design all aspects of typical bridge structures, both new and rehabilitative

  • Strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead project tasks and mentor junior engineers

  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments in a team-based environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • FHWA-NHI-13005 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges) and/or FHWA-NHI-130078 (Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques)

  • Load rating and BIM/BrIM modeling experience

  • Prior proposal writing and project estimating experience

  • Active participation in professional engineering societies
