Role Overview:

The Project Engineer will lead and support multi-discipline site development projects from concept through construction. This role includes managing design teams, engaging with clients, and coordinating regulatory approvals while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects and monitor progress, schedules, and budgets

  • Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships

  • Prepare proposals and assist with project fee estimates

  • Oversee development of land development plans, including design drawings, technical specs, and reports

  • Coordinate permitting with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies

  • Delegate and guide work for junior engineers and drafters

  • Mentor junior staff in SWM strategies, utility coordination, and E&SC design

  • Ensure project quality, compliance, and delivery from schematic design to construction


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience, particularly in land development design

  • PE License in New Jersey (or ability to obtain within 6 months)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications (e.g., CME, CFM, PP) are a plus

  • Proven project management experience on complex, multi-discipline projects

  • Advanced knowledge of site design including grading, utilities, stormwater, and permitting

  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and project management software

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam Revu

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and across teams

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused
