Project Controls Specialist (Engineering / Heavy Industrial)
We are currently seeking a skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team in Englewood, Colorado. The Project Controls Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure project control and improvement, implementing corporate procedures and following best practices. This position also involves financial accounting responsibilities, including report preparation and activity control.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Acting as a project controller, managing and organizing project data for progress and cost management.
- Creating and maintaining the project cash flow based on project requirements.
- Inputting data and conducting analytical reviews of generated reports.
- Gathering and analyzing historical data for future planning and forecasting.
- Ensuring accurate cost documentation and leading cost distribution for capital projects.
- Developing and maintaining critical path logic networks and charts.
- Evaluating and forecasting current project status against baseline schedules.
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of resource information, project activity, and coding.
- Creating visual representations of cost status and forecast requirements.
- Reviewing and checking cost reporting documentation.
- Contributing to the development of the work breakdown structure in collaboration with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance departments.
- Preparing and processing cost control system inputs for cost reports.
- Developing an effective project plan template for schedule development and control.
- Performing other assigned duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are necessary:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in business or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 – 8 years of progressively responsible experience in business, office, project management, or project controls.
Strong communication and client management skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in CRM and/or ERP software, especially SAP PS module. Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera (P6)/Primavera Online (P8) or Microsoft Project. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook Calendar, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of basic office systems and records management.
Knowledge of research methods, math, and English composition.
