The job available is for a Roadway Project Engineer located in Tampa, FL. As a member of the project operations team, the Project Engineer's main responsibility is to provide support to project staff, Project Managers, and Project Superintendents. This support includes ensuring that work is properly planned, efficient, well-understood, and well-documented. The core objectives of the Project Engineer are to plan, communicate, organize, implement, and track project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly review the contract and specifications
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent as needed
• Assist in the preparation and updates of project schedules
• Help with quantity reporting, project cost analysis, and forecasting
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change order requests
• Coordinate equipment and material deliveries as necessary
• Resolve project challenges and conflicts by coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce
• Participate in monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing
• Maintain document control, including managing submittal schedules, contract documents, and project record drawings
• Review daily reports for accuracy
• Create and maintain technical submittal lists, NPDES permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule as required
• Ensure compliance with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements, utility adjustments, testing, and claims
• Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plans or specifications impact products or services
• Assist with project closeout procedures
• Undertake additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager

Job Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering and Management (CEM)
• 3-5+ years of experience in the civil construction industry, both in office and field roles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Primavera 6
