Project Engineer – Roadway
Roadway Project Engineer
Salary Range: Competitively based on industry experience. Ranging from 100k to 125k
Work Schedule: Generally Monday through Friday, with occasional additional days as required
Goal:
The Roadway Project Engineer plays a vital role in providing support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent. Responsibilities include assisting in goal-setting, planning, communication, organization, implementation, and tracking to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Duties:
- Gather, arrange, assess, and distribute project submittals
- Manage plan drawings, including revisions and updates
- Maintain and update all necessary project logs
- Perform material take-offs
- Collaborate with owners, client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Calculate pricing and prepare contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules and material deliveries
- Maintain an organized workspace while managing multiple projects
- Draft reports, business correspondence, and project documentation
- Clearly present information in one-on-one or small group settings to clients, customers, and team members
- Interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating manuals, and procedural instructions
- Undertake additional assigned tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Consideration will also be given to candidates with three or more years of relevant experience (as described in this role)
- Thorough knowledge of Primavera 3 and 6
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong grasp of basic algebra, geometry, and construction math concepts
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for occasional travel requirements
- Ability to identify issues, gather data, analyze facts, and make sound conclusions
- Capability to interpret complex technical instructions, including mathematical and diagrammatic formats, while managing both abstract and practical variables
- Moderate physical stamina for administrative tasks, with exposure to varying weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind)
- Ability to navigate minor obstacles on foot at construction sites
- Adequate manual dexterity to handle items and perform detailed work
