Projet Manager

Location: Tallahassee, FL

We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of construction projects in Tallahassee, FL. Our projects range in value from $400k to $20M, and it will be your responsibility to ensure that each project is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

As the Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the overall success of project execution. You will be responsible for estimating, budgeting, scheduling, contract compliance, safety, quality of work, project closeout, and owner satisfaction. It will be up to you to provide the necessary labor and equipment resources for each project, monitor construction progress, set strategic project goals, and closely monitor performance to meet the owner's goals. In addition, you will actively engage with field supervision and project engineering teams, providing training and guidance for improvement and professional growth.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the construction projects, with a focus on DOT work, asphalt paving and milling, and earthwork (storm drain, utilities, and concrete experience preferred)
  • Plan and execute complex technical work, making sound judgment and decisions
  • Oversee field construction activity, engineering, and other project support activities
  • Ensure the contract is executed to meet schedule and budget requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships as the point of contact with the project owner
  • Administer the contract and protect the rights and remedies of the company regarding changes
  • Assemble the craft workforce and manage field supervision to execute the contract
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with owners and external agencies on behalf of the company

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5 plus years of current/recent construction management experience, specifically in DOT work, road and asphalt paving and milling
  • Experience with storm drain, utilities, and concrete is preferred
  • Knowledge of the local construction environment is desired
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus
  • Proven track record in organizing work forces to successfully accomplish project goals
  • Well-rounded knowledge in various construction disciplines
  • Strong leadership skills
