Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to establish accurate diagnoses and create personalized treatment plans

  • Manage medication and prescribe appropriate psychotropic drugs based on evidence-based guidelines and individual patient needs and preferences

  • Utilize clinical assessment skills and therapeutic techniques to provide counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for our patients

  • Regularly monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans when necessary, and provide ongoing follow-up care to optimize treatment outcomes

  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for symptom management

  • Accurately document all clinical assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in psychiatric nursing by attending relevant conferences and engaging in continuous professional development activities

Requirements:

  • Hold a Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program

  • Possess a current, unrestricted license as a registered nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in WA

  • Hold national certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

  • Have a minimum of two years of experience working as a PMHNP, preferably in an inpatient setting

  • Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and expertise in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders across all age groups

  • Proficient in conducting psychiatric assessments, differential diagnoses, and developing effective treatment plans

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trusting and therapeutic relationships with patients and their families

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and experience in documentation following legal and regulatory requirements

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
