Purchasing Manager (Automotive)

Our client, a leader in manufacturing, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to take ownership of supplier development, cost control, and procurement strategy on a global scale. What You’ll Do:

• Lead all aspects of Supply Chain and Purchasing operations, ensuring quality, cost, and on-time delivery.

• Develop international suppliers and maintain performance standards that meet automotive quality requirements.

• Drive cost-containment initiatives while improving supplier relationships and performance.

• Maintain purchasing policies and procedures in compliance with automotive quality standards.

• Lead corporate-wide steel negotiations and major vendor contracts.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Production Control, Engineering, and Quality teams on procurement strategy.

• Analyze market trends, vet new suppliers, and negotiate contracts that drive long-term value.

• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards across all purchasing activities.

• Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and the company, fostering long-term, high-performance partnerships.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and risk-based decision-making.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Certification (ISM, APICS preferred)

• 5+ years of purchasing/materials experience in manufacturing

• Proven leadership in sourcing, supplier development, and cost reduction

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills

• Deep understanding of global procurement practices and compliance
