Quality Engineering Supervisor

Our client is a globally recognized automotive manufacturer that specializes in stamped automotive products. They are currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of Quality Assurance Engineering Supervisor at their facility in Cartersville, GA.

As the Quality Assurance Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of your assigned area. This includes supervising a team of talented professionals, such as Team Leads, Engineers, Quality Auditors, and Technicians. Your main focus will be on maintaining and improving the quality systems to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and meeting customer requirements.

Essential Functions

You will be responsible for coordinating and implementing actions to improve the quality management system and strive for "zero defects." Additionally, you will provide support to the manufacturing operations, identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and conduct root cause analysis. Other duties include ensuring customer quality documentation, establishing quality controls, conducting internal training for quality, and communicating customer requirements across the organization.

Furthermore, you will oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including establishing metrics, applying best practices, and developing new tools and processes to achieve quality goals. As the key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, you will provide QA services and coordinate QA resources internally and externally. You will also schedule your team members to ensure adequate support for production. In addition, you will lead and mentor team members, verify and validate countermeasures, and collaborate with other QA staff to complete daily tasks on time with a high level of quality. Lastly, you will follow the guidelines set forth in our 5s training, and perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the company based on business needs and skill level.

3. Experience in equipment and techniques inspection

4. Strong problem-solving skills

5. Expertise in GD&T

6. Proficiency in MS Office

7. Experience with SAP ERP system

8. Good material handling knowledge

9. Experience performing audits (internal & external)

10. Reading of Engineering drawings

11. Application of customer standards

Supervisory Responsibility

As the Quality Engineering Supervisor, you will have direct supervisory responsibility for all associates in your team according to the Quality Organizational Diagram. This includes scheduling, monitoring attendance, training, and disciplining team members. You will oversee various team activities, such as sorting, containment, production buy-offs, tool trials, Run@Rates, and other quality-related tasks.

Work Environment

The work environment at our facility is dynamic and fast-paced. You will work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be loud, and it is important to wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the shop floor.

While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand and use your hands extensively. Walking, stooping, kneeling, and crawling may also be necessary. Additionally, you may be required to climb or balance and communicate verbally. Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds will be required on occasion.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, due to the nature of our business and customer demands, you may be required to work outside of these hours, including weekends.


Occasional travel, both domestic and international, may be required for this role. Additionally, local travel within a 200-mile radius from our facility may be mandatory as needed or as requested by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering-related field

2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience

Strong previous leadership experience

Experience managing groups of 10+ associates

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Education and Experience

Master's Degree in Engineering-related field

Proficiency in 3D modeling software (CATIA, Solidworks, etc.) preferred but not required

5+ years of prior Quality experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Strong leadership skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced automotive industry environment are essential. You must possess coaching and training skills, as well as the ability to conduct meetings with medium to large groups. Effective public speaking skills are also necessary.
