Quality Manager

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design and maintenance of our Quality and Engineering systems, ensuring compliance with best practices and hygienic standards.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that quality is integrated into every aspect of our operations, from the initial design phase to the final product. You will oversee the creation, publication, and maintenance of procedures, processes, and programs that drive our Quality and Engineering systems. It will be your responsibility to identify effective measures of system effectiveness and ensure their implementation and monitoring.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Additionally, we require:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a cGMP environment
  • Experience with manufacturing aseptic products and thermal processing
  • Knowledge of system design and experience implementing sustainable programs
  • A passion for project work and a desire to implement best-in-class quality and engineering systems
  • The ability to identify process waste and lead improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools and preferably holding a Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • A commitment to ensuring quality from ideation to commercialization
Responsibilities

As the Quality Assurance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the overarching quality system, including the development, deployment, and maintenance of Internal Prerequisite Programs and associated SSOPs
  • Developing and implementing Engineering systems to manage buildings and equipment throughout their life cycle, including adopting new technologies, testing and validating equipment, and addressing obsolescence
  • Participating in and providing input to the design of products and processes
  • Enhancing accessibility and utilization of the Quality Monitoring Scheme (QMS) to ensure alignment with quality requirements and MSPEC
  • Acting as the primary contact for customer-facing interactions related to quality, ensuring customer requirements are translated into the quality system and met by the organization
  • Preparing for and representing the organization during customer audits
  • Developing and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) for the QA Department and managing shelf-life monitoring and extensions for raw materials and finished products
  • Overseeing document control, pest control, management of change, KPI reporting, and shelf-life monitoring and extensions
