Salary: $85,000 – $95,000

We’re looking for a driven Quality & Manufacturing Process Engineer to join a high-performing team in Ames, Iowa. If you’re passionate about optimizing processes, ensuring production excellence, and driving continuous improvement, this role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering in an industrial setting

• Strong knowledge of ISO quality systems and process development

• Hands-on experience with lean tools like 5S, value stream mapping, Six Sigma

• ERP system experience (Syteline a plus)

• Strong CAD and Microsoft Office proficiency

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and refine robust, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes

• Transition product concepts from design to scalable production methods

• Lead process validation activities including PFMEA, control plans, and capability studies

• Design tooling, fixtures, and production aids to support new and existing processes

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions

• Ensure all processes and documentation comply with ISO 9000 standards

• Serve as a critical link between product development, engineering, and production

• Drive quality assurance by identifying process risks and ensuring early product runs meet expectations

• Lead Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement initiatives

• Support internal audits and contribute to corrective action planning

• Train and support production teams in implementing and sustaining new standards
