JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of machined parts and understanding the machining process
  • Knowledgeable in GD&T and interpretation of CMM measurement data
  • Experienced in AS9102 First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
  • Conducts incoming inspection to ensure traceability of parts and materials
  • Reviews supplier sampling inspection reports
  • Investigates nonconforming materials and generates NCR to document defects
  • Leads MRB, determines root cause, and drives corrective actions
  • Conducts in-process and final inspection of hardware per build work instruction
  • Verifies in-process and final test results per test procedure
  • Ensures completeness of build and test documentation and generates CoCs
  • Scans and archives all applicable records and objective evidence
  • Communicates clearly with internal peers as well as suppliers and customers

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant engineering field
  • 5 or more years of experience in Quality and Product Assurance

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Work experience in AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) processes
  • Familiarity with Composite Manufacturing Process
  • Knowledge of chemical processing for electroless and electroplating
  • Familiarity with NADCAP certification relating to special processes
  • Strong knowledge base of various industry standards and specifications
  • Understanding of IPC accept/reject criteria for PCB, PCBA, and cable
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001 soldering standard

Support Functions

  • Tasks and assignments required to ensure implementation of AS9100 QMS
  • Updates procedures, work instructions, and forms for process improvements

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has the potential to develop into a supervisory role

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Typical office hours include Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, however, these hours will vary based on workload and the manager's discretion. This job may require more than 40 hours of work per week as the need arises.

Travel

Mostly local supplier visits and minimal domestic travel as needed.
