Quality Supervisor – 2nd shift
Looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for quality to join our fast-paced manufacturing environment as a Quality Supervisor - Food Manufacturing.
Responsibilities as Quality Supervisor - Food Manufacturing include:
- Monitoring and addressing customer and product complaints
- Collaborating with customers and suppliers
- Verifying and filing HACCP and QA documents daily
- Conducting third-party audits
- Serving as a liaison with USDA inspectors
- Working closely with production supervisors and leads
- Managing a team of QA supervisors
- Providing training for QA employees
- Examining packaging for tampering
- Monitoring packaging integrity, foreign objects, and accuracy
- Handling quality, labeling, and product disposition issues
- Evaluating the performance of Quality Control personnel
- Responding to inquiries from government regulatory personnel
- Overseeing the Pest Control program
- Managing all Pathogen testing
- Developing SOPs as needed
- Adhering to food safety, quality, and SQF rules
- Conducting active Food Security and Defense surveillance
- Assisting with disciplinary actions when necessary
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of leadership experience in quality assurance
- Working knowledge of microbiology, aseptic sampling technique, and sampling plans
- HACCP certification and a strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and SSOP
- Detailed knowledge of beef and beef product labeling laws
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong leadership ability
- Practical knowledge of plant sanitation practices
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for meat products
- Proficiency in using universal computer software
- Safety training
- Safe Quality Food (SQF) training
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) training
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training
- Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) training
- Food defense training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or related field
- Extensive experience in inspection and auditing activities
- Background in a food manufacturing/processing environment
- Knowledge of statistical software and AS400 inventory system
- Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Strong project management, time management, and conflict resolution skills
