Quality Supervisor – 2nd shift

Looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for quality to join our fast-paced manufacturing environment as a Quality Supervisor - Food Manufacturing.

Responsibilities as Quality Supervisor - Food Manufacturing include:

  • Monitoring and addressing customer and product complaints
  • Collaborating with customers and suppliers
  • Verifying and filing HACCP and QA documents daily
  • Conducting third-party audits
  • Serving as a liaison with USDA inspectors
  • Working closely with production supervisors and leads
  • Managing a team of QA supervisors
  • Providing training for QA employees
  • Examining packaging for tampering
  • Monitoring packaging integrity, foreign objects, and accuracy
  • Handling quality, labeling, and product disposition issues
  • Evaluating the performance of Quality Control personnel
  • Responding to inquiries from government regulatory personnel
  • Overseeing the Pest Control program
  • Managing all Pathogen testing
  • Developing SOPs as needed
  • Adhering to food safety, quality, and SQF rules
  • Conducting active Food Security and Defense surveillance
  • Assisting with disciplinary actions when necessary
Basic Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of microbiology, aseptic sampling technique, and sampling plans
  • HACCP certification and a strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and SSOP
  • Detailed knowledge of beef and beef product labeling laws
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Practical knowledge of plant sanitation practices
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for meat products
  • Proficiency in using universal computer software
  • Safety training
  • Safe Quality Food (SQF) training
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) training
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training
  • Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) training
  • Food defense training


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or related field
  • Extensive experience in inspection and auditing activities
  • Background in a food manufacturing/processing environment
  • Knowledge of statistical software and AS400 inventory system
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Strong project management, time management, and conflict resolution skills
