The Cost Estimator- position is vital in large construction projects, providing estimations of costs for specific disciplines. Below are the main duties and qualifications for this position:

Duties:

- Assisting in the estimation of costs for new projects

- Offering informed advice on intricate matters and escalating problems when necessary

- Supporting in responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and preparing proposals

- Analyzing existing budgets

- Reviewing plans/drawings and creating cost estimates for various aspects such as earthworks and structural drawings

- Providing monthly progress updates and collaborating with the Operations team

- Creating project cost estimates from conceptual to design stages using experience and historical data

- Participating in industry benchmarking of project metrics

- Maintaining effective communication with all parties involved for project success

- Delivering accurate and timely work outputs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Blue Beam

- Excellent technical writing and communication abilities

- Well-organized, proactive, and disciplined approach to work

Requirements:

Experience/Qualifications:

- Secondary degree in cost estimation, construction management, or equivalent

- 3 or more years of technical experience in delivering complex projects

This position requires a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, and project management experience to ensure the successful completion of construction projects.
