R & D (Chemical) Engineer
Chemical R&D Engineer
Position Summary:
We’re seeking an innovative and technically skilled R&D Chemical Engineer to support the development and optimization of chemical processes within our manufacturing environment. This role is instrumental in improving product quality, advancing process safety, and enhancing overall plant performance through engineering analysis and hands-on collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and troubleshoot process operations to drive efficiency and reliability.

Design and specify process equipment (e.g., heat exchangers) to support production objectives.

Maintain and update critical process safety documentation, including PSV calculations and release assessments.

Lead and facilitate Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to assess risks and implement safety improvements.

Develop safe work procedures and maintenance strategies for systems involving hazardous materials.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and HSE teams to align engineering efforts with safety and performance goals.

Contribute to ongoing R&D and plant initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid foundation in engineering principles.

Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to working across teams.

Excellent time and project management abilities, with the capacity to handle tasks independently.

In-depth knowledge of chemical process design, process safety, and engineering best practices.

Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001 standards and environmental regulations.

Hands-on experience with process simulation and design tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, CAD).

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, with data analysis capabilities.

Background in analytical chemistry and laboratory techniques is a plus.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.

Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
