RADIATION THERAPIST
POSITION: Radiation Oncology Technologist
SALARY: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
JOB TYPE: Full-time
LOCATION: Duarte, CA
We are currently seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in a range of radiation therapy procedures, including IMRT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TBE, and High Dose Rate Brachytherapy. This is a full-time position with part-time positions also available.
As a Radiation Oncology Technologist, you will work under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and perform MRI simulation procedures when applicable. You will provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the physician, ensuring that all established standards and practices are followed. Additionally, you will participate in clinical research protocols and serve as a Clinical Instructor and Supervisor of Therapy Students.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver prescribed and planned courses of radiation therapy to patients of all ages
- Prepare rooms and equipment for each patient
- Enter patient data at the start of examinations and monitor data acquisition throughout procedures
- Explain procedures to patients and answer their questions
- Maintain visual and audio communications with patients during treatments
- Observe patients for any unusual reactions or events
- Follow radiation safety measures for patients and personnel
- Record examination data and other relevant information on patients
- Ensure patient safety and assist with scheduling
- Operate MRI control console and peripheral hardware for scans
- Transfer, position, and instruct patients during MRI and/or radiation therapy procedures
- Assist Radiation Oncologist in therapeutic research programs using MRI guidance
- Perform simulation procedures and assist in dosimetry procedures
- Conduct diagnostic testing, maintenance, and quality assurance for equipment
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators
- Notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repair needs
- Complete billing processes for patient treatments
- Assist in the education and training of radiation therapy students
- Participate in professional development activities
- Attend meetings and contribute to departmental continuing education program
- Perform other assigned or requested duties
Skills and Certifications:
- Expertise in IMRT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TBE, and High Dose Rate Brachytherapy
- Licensed by the California State Department of Health in Radiation Therapy
- Registered by ARRT with 24 months of radiologic technology coursework
- Current CPR certification for adult and pediatric patients

- Experience with a combination of the above-listed treatments
- Passionate about providing exceptional cancer care
- Preferably more than 2 years of experience
