The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist is responsible for conducting imaging examinations as per physician orders, using an array of advanced imaging equipment, while considering the unique needs and age of each individual patient. They must apply their clinical knowledge and judgment to ensure proper positioning, calibration of radiation dose, and patient care required to produce superior quality images. The technologist must prioritize minimal radiation exposure for both the patient and operator, leading with ALARA awareness.


Educational qualifications to meet certification, licensure, or registration requirements.

  • Must obtain Oregon Radiographer License upon hiring, or temporary license.
  • National Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 6 months (180 days) of employment.
  • National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) certification upon hiring.
  • New graduates must possess an OBMI temporary license and acquire a permanent license within 6 months of employment.
