  • As a weekend position, this role offers a 25% weekend commitment pay in addition to the base rate. The schedule includes shifts on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with varying hours between 8:00am - 7:00pm. The work will be split between a medical center and a medical office building.

    OVERVIEW:

    In this role, you will perform diagnostic, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians. Your responsibilities will contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will report to the supervisor of diagnostic radiology.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Perform radiographs:

    a. Position and transfer patients.

    b. Provide immobilization devices as necessary.

    c. Operate equipment according to instructions.

    d. Utilize PACS system to process digital images.

    e. Ensure radiation protection for patients and select appropriate exposure techniques.

    2. Prepare opaque media for examinations.

    3. Maintain sterile techniques and participate in applicable procedures.

    4. Operate portable equipment in sterile and non-sterile environments.

    5. Maintain current NYS license.

    6. Fulfill administrative responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records as instructed.

b. Keep the work area clean and organized.

c. Collaborate with all staff members to maintain a professional workplace.

d. Rotate among different areas within the department.

e. Maintain ethical relationships with patients and colleagues.

7. Supervise, evaluate, and instruct students in the Radiologic Program by sharing knowledge and expertise in a constructive and interactive manner.

8. Familiarize yourself and adhere to Quality in Action principles, participating in the process as required.

9. Attend all mandatory educational programs annually.

10. Understand and demonstrate the importance of meeting customer/patient needs through friendly and caring interactions, attentiveness to their needs, and proactive communication to ensure a positive experience.

11. Deliver age-appropriate care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatric individuals.

EDUCATION:
1. Hold a current NYS Radiologic Technologist license and possess ARRT Certification.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience required.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
3. This position requires frequent walking and standing, accounting for over 90% of work time. Additionally, bending, stooping, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. are necessary, as well as the ability to push beds, stretchers, and mobile x-ray equipment.
EXPOSURE CATEGORY:
4. Classified as Category I, with tasks involving potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
