Real Estate Paralegal (55435)
Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Real Estate Legal Assistant to join their team in Fort Worth. In this role, you will assist attorneys in various real estate transactions, conducting research, and drafting documentation. The specific duties may vary depending on the type of real estate transaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with attorneys to gather necessary information for transactions.
- Organize and review organizational documents (e.g., partnership agreements, articles of incorporation) for completeness and proper filing.
- Ensure certificates of existence and good standing for entities are ordered and address any issues that arise.
- Conduct and analyze UCC searches.
- Prepare UCC financing statements, amendments, and terminations and file them promptly.
- Create initial drafts of closing documents (e.g., deeds, bills of sale).
- Proofread documentation and ensure appropriate exhibits are included.
- Prepare documentation for execution at closing.
- Review various property-related documents, such as title commitments, surveys, and zoning regulations.
- Compose title objection letters and respond to incoming objections.
- Communicate with title companies regarding document requests and negotiations.
- Develop transaction checklists and deadlines, and assist attorneys in preparing for upcoming deadlines.
- Review and summarize contracts related to property services.
- Summarize lease provisions.
- Organize executed documents for closing binders and oversee their preparation.
- Follow up on obtaining executed documents and title policies with endorsements.
- Attend closings, if requested, and serve as a licensed notary public for document acknowledgments.
- Create initial drafts of leases and related documents using provided templates.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong proofreading and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and follow instructions from diverse clients, attorneys, and staff with courtesy and tact.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Education:
- Preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- High school diploma or GED with paralegal certification required.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a degree or certification.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a law firm with a strong understanding of complex real estate issues.
