Job Title: Real Estate Development Attorney – Specializing in Finished Lot Land Development/Homebuilding/Landbanking

Note: This position requires the employee to work at our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Note: We accept bar admission to any state for this position, but prefer candidates who are licensed in AZ.

We have a strong emphasis on working with homebuilders and have a diverse portfolio that spans across 25+ states. Our expertise lies in land banking and lot servicing deals, as well as land acquisition, development, and real estate financing in Arizona. We also represent master planned community developers in Arizona.

Job Description

• Manage land banking transactions nationwide for land bankers who provide capital to public and private homebuilders. This includes conducting due diligence, reviewing titles, drafting documents, and overseeing closings.
• Draft and negotiate various real estate contracts, such as purchase and sale agreements, land development agreements, and financing arrangements.
• Collaborate closely with capital sources, developers, and landowners on a variety of real estate projects.
• Attend and facilitate closings for transactional real estate matters related to land banking, acquisition, and sales.
• Assist with loan transactions on behalf of secured lender clients, particularly those involving fast hard money lending.
• Work in coordination with local counsel in multiple states to ensure compliance with regional real estate laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transactional real estate law, with a specific focus on land transactions with homebuilders and the sale of finished lots.
• Highly preferred: Experience with landbanking transactions or the sale of finished lots. Extensive experience in commercial leasing or commercial development is not a valuable asset for this position.
• Knowledge of homebuilder transactional dealings, particularly the acquisition and sale of finished lots.
• Extensive experience in commercial leasing or commercial development is not a valuable asset for this position.
• Bar admission in any state is acceptable, with preference given to candidates licensed in AZ or those with experience in the primary states of operation (AZ, CA, FL, TX, NV, WA, the Carolinas, and GA).
• Ability to work full-time at our Scottsdale, AZ office.
