Regional Dean Academic Operations – Vocational Nursing Program – Remote
Location: Sacramento, CA
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Regional Dean Academic Operations to lead our Vocational Nursing Program. In this crucial position, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the program, ensuring the highest educational standards are met, and creating an environment that promotes learning and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise multiple sites
- Develop, update, and evaluate the program in accordance with state and Vocational Nursing Board requirements
- Prepare necessary documentation, reports, and proposals for regulatory compliance
- Identify and obtain external resources to support the nursing program
- Create and implement program policies and procedures
- Participate in committees and organize meetings
- Oversee admission process and provide orientation to new students
- Act as a liaison between the college and the local community
- Establish and maintain partnerships with clinical sites
- Evaluate clinical sites for safety and efficacy, ensuring they meet program objectives
- Conduct evaluations by students, clinical sites representatives, and faculty at the end of each clinical rotation
- Maintain and update clinical contracts
- Assist in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
- Conduct regular faculty meetings and maintain meeting records
- Assign and schedule faculty to courses and clinical sites
- Monitor instruction quality and participate in program review and evaluation
- Provide guidance and support to potential students
- Orient nursing students to skills lab and clinical facilities
- Participate in recruitment and admission planning for qualified nursing students
- Ensure all students meet graduation and licensing requirements
- Contribute to nursing advisory committee meetings
- Pursue professional development and maintain continuing education hours
- Stay updated on State rules and regulations for Vocational Nursing
Qualifications:
- Current and active Registered Nurse license in the state of operation
- Baccalaureate degree from an approved school
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Program Director
- At least 3 years' experience as a registered nurse, with 1 year in teaching or clinical supervision, or a combination thereof, within the last 5 years
- Completion of relevant courses in administration, teaching, and curriculum development
