Regional Sales Engineer

Ideally based in Charlotte, NC or Ft. Mill, SC servicing the I-77 Corridor

Area of Coverage – South Carolina, Western North Carolina, Western Virginia, Eastern Tennessee and West Virginia

1st year compensation: $90,000 - $125,000 (salary), then switch to salary + commission after completion of the first year.

Our client is a reputable American organization specializing in providing industrial processing solutions to design, build, and commission bulk-processing systems.

The Regional Sales Engineer offers in-plant consultancy services to customers and proactively identifies sales opportunities. This role reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base within the assigned region.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including lead generation, prospecting, and successfully closing sales.

  • Establish and nurture strong, enduring customer relationships by collaborating closely with them and gaining a deep understanding of their requirements.

  • Provide customers with technical support and expertise, including delivering product presentations, conducting demonstrations, and offering consultations.

  • Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to ensure that customer specifications are met.

  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to potential customers.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.

  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to network with potential clients.

  • Maintain an up-to-date CRM system by adding new accounts and contacts, recording project notes, and projecting sales pipeline.

  • Report on sales activities, progress, and market conditions to the Director of Sales & Marketing and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering (open to candidates without a degree but possess relevant experience)

  • Experience in pneumatic conveying and dust collection systems

  • Previous sales experience and/or in-plant exposure

  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and/or AutoCAD.

  • Ability to understand customer needs and provide effective solutions.

  • Willingness to travel for approximately 12 days per month, with the majority involving overnight travel.
