REGISTERED FUNDS ASSOCIATE COUNSEL

Our esteemed client, a highly regarded global law firm listed in the AmLaw 50, is currently seeking a skilled Registered Funds Associate Counsel to enhance their well-established Financial Services team. Recognized for their expertise in advising prominent financial services firms, asset managers, and investment funds, this group effectively represents a wide range of clients, including start-ups, boutique establishments, and major financial institutions on a global scale. They have earned prestigious recognition as a top-tier law firm in investment fund services by reputable industry publications such as Chambers USA.

Qualifications:

• Holds a JD degree from a top-tier law school with an impressive academic record.
• Active membership in the California Bar.
• Has accumulated 3 to 6 years of substantial experience focusing on registered investment companies.
• Proficient in relevant legislation, particularly the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
• Familiarity with exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, business development companies, investment advisers, or commodities would be advantageous.
• Preference for candidates with prior experience in a large law firm, in-house, or a regulatory agency.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert guidance to clients on intricate matters pertaining to registered investment companies, supporting a diverse clientele that includes start-ups, boutique firms, and renowned global financial institutions.
• Offer counsel on regulatory compliance regarding the Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act, and other applicable regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation, disclosures, and other pertinent materials for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and other investment products.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to oversee client engagements, contributing legal insights and strategic guidance across a wide array of fund structures and transactions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in the financial services industry in order to proactively identify client opportunities and address challenges.
