Candidate Profile:

• Holds a JD from a top-tier law school with a stellar academic record.
• Possesses active Bar Admission in D.C.
• Brings 3-6 years of substantial experience in registered investment companies.
• Thorough familiarity with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act is essential.
• An understanding of exchange-traded funds, variable insurance products, business development companies, investment advisers, or commodities would be advantageous.
• Preference for candidates with prior experience working for a large law firm, in-house, or a regulatory agency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to clients on intricate matters pertaining to registered investment companies, serving a diverse client base that includes start-ups, boutique firms, and global financial institutions.
• Offer guidance on regulatory compliance with the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, as well as other relevant regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation, disclosures, and other pertinent materials for mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and other investment products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee client engagements, contributing legal insights and strategic guidance across a array of fund structures and transactions.
• Stay informed about emerging trends in the financial services industry to proactively pinpoint client opportunities and address challenges.
