Multiple Med-Surg units are available for candidates to choose from! Descriptions of each unit are outlined below:

Medical:

A 40-bed medical unit focused on adult patients with a wide range of diagnoses including COPD, CHF, diabetes (types 1 and 2), renal failure, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disorders, neurological conditions, stable acute illnesses, addiction, and mental health needs. This unit maintains a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and offers flexible scheduling. The team is highly collaborative and supportive, offering a strong foundation for nurses early in their careers.

Med-Surg:

This 24-bed acute care unit specializes in stroke patient care and is cross-trained to manage various patient populations. Team members are encouraged to pursue NIH or SCRN certification and take pride in being part of a nationally recognized stroke care team. The unit emphasizes professional development and personal growth, making it ideal for nurses seeking to expand their clinical skillset.

6 Medical:

This 20-bed unit provides care for a mix of Med-Surg patients and other medical populations. Nurses in this department are cross-trained and operate in a dynamic environment, delivering care across the lifespan. Flexibility and adaptability are key traits for success in this team.

2 Surgical:
A 35-bed Med-Surg unit with low to moderate acuity. Patient stays are typically short-term and include diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, drug dependency, and discharge planning to skilled nursing facilities. Surgical cases often include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, gynecological procedures, and orthopedic injuries.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Nursing or ASN/BSN

• Active RN license or eligibility to obtain one post-offer

• CPR certification

• Additional certifications may be required for specific units

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds (may vary by unit)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
