  1. We are seeking experienced OR Registered Nurses who can circulate in the following service lines:

  5. ENT: Pediatric Patients – PE Tubes, T&As, Septoplasties, FESS (with and without Navigation)
  6. GI - Colonoscopies, EGDs, Dilatation

  8. Ophthalmology – Cataracts with Microscope and Phaco-Machine
  9. Podiatry – Similar to Sports Medicine, Some Open and Many Endoscopic Procedures
  10. We do not currently perform OBGYN, GYN, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, or Organ Transplant procedures
  11. The ideal candidates have worked in small community hospitals, have call experience, and can be called in for any of the above service lines. During on-call duty, they will be the only OR RN on site, unlike in other areas where clinical leads are present but may lack the specific skill set of an operating room nurse.
  12. GI experience is a plus but not a requirement for an OR RN. Ophthalmology experience is uncommon as most eye surgeons have designated "eye teams". However, since we perform fairly basic procedures in ophthalmology, we can easily train OR RNs in this field. Familiarity with equipment used in each service line is important, but expertise in all areas is not necessary.
  13. The Registered Nurse utilizes nursing theory, technical skills, and effective communication to provide high-quality and compassionate care to patients and their families. They assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, deliver direct care, evaluate patient progress, and coordinate care throughout the patient's treatment journey. The OR RN specializes in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions and provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. They also educate patients and families on self-care beyond hospitalization, including necessary lifestyle changes to promote health and healing. The OR Registered Nurse is committed to promoting comfort and providing emotional support within a Healing Environment.
  14. The job responsibilities include:
  15. - Applying nursing knowledge and skills to deliver patient care
  16. - Assessing patient and family needs, developing individualized care plans, and setting goals
  17. - Promoting patient health, safety, and rights, and fostering cooperation among team members
  18. - Teaching others and delegating tasks based on education, training, and scope of practice
  19. - Motivating patients and families, assessing their learning styles, and providing education and tools for continued care at home
  20. - Evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and implementing improvements
  21. - Making meaningful connections with patients and families, focusing on their needs and creating a healing environment
  22. - Demonstrating skill in interventions, including medication administration
  23. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is expected, as some tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
