We provide support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) of all ages, empowering them to reach their full potential and live meaningful lives. Our Group Homes / Intermediate Care Facilities cater to the lifelong needs of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

We are currently hiring a Registered Nurse Supervisor for our residential system. The ideal candidate should have experience in the ID/IDD field, although we are willing to provide training. This individual will oversee and train direct care staff in monitoring medical systems. Additionally, the nurse will participate in team meetings and provide medically related in-services to program staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing support for group homes with medically vulnerable individuals with disabilities
  • Offering continuous clinical supervision alongside administrative supervisors to all nurses in the region
  • Organizing and conducting clinical training during meetings
  • Acting as a resource for department members and agency staff, providing necessary information
  • Selecting, orienting, training, counseling, disciplining, and directing nursing staff in collaboration with supervisors in the region
  • Providing direct assistance in clinical coverage as requested by the Nursing coordinator and assisting in other aspects of the Nursing Department's operation
  • Taking the lead in setting up orientation schedules, training, and supervision for new nurses


As a Registered Nurse Coordinator, you will supervise License Practical Nurses, ensuring the follow-up of all clients' nursing and medical concerns to promote health and wellness. Additionally, you will provide staff training and monitor compliance.


  • Supervising License Practical Nurses in their assigned duties
  • Maintaining open communication with the Health Service Director at all times
  • Being available on-call as a nurse
  • Reviewing the medication administration system through observation to ensure continuity and quality
  • Inspecting documentation of scheduled and controlled substances according to facility policy and pharmacy regulations
  • Auditing drug and pharmaceutical stock to ensure proper administration
  • Reviewing physician orders for correct implementation
  • Regularly communicating with nursing staff to review client services and maintain continuity of care
  • Inspecting nursing assessments to ensure completion following ICF/ID guidelines
  • Supervising nurses in providing follow-up care as outlined in the Individual Service Plan
  • Implementing and maintaining an organized tracking system for consultations, special procedures, laboratory procedures, x-rays, and immunizations to ensure timely acquisition of needed assessments and follow-up measures
  • Reviewing electronic documentation daily to ensure resolution of client issues
  • Participating in the admission/discharge review process as assigned by the Health Services Director
  • Working closely and collaboratively with other personnel and contracted individuals
  • Reviewing, dating, and signing monthly, quarterly, and annual assessments
  • Acting as Health Service Director when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


Education & Experience:

  • Valid Registered Nurses license issued by the State Board of Nursing in good standing with the State of Tennessee
  • Driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Desirable previous experience working with disabled adults
  • Prefer experience in supervising other nurses
  • Experience with intellectually and developmentally disabled population, preferred but not required
  • Med/Surg experience
  • Nursing homes, rehabs, or chronic/geriatric care experience
