Night Shift: 6:30am-6:30pm
Responsibilities
As a respiratory therapist, your main role will be to assess and address the respiratory needs of patients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering mechanical ventilation, both invasive and non-invasive.
- Conducting breathing therapy sessions and conducting patient assessments.
- Performing postural drainage, percussion, and bronchial hygiene techniques.
- Conducting bedside pulmonary function tests.
- Conducting blood gas puncture and analysis, and maintaining and controlling the blood gas analyzer.
- Responding to cardiac arrest and Rapid Response situations, and performing CPR as needed.
- Performing emergency endotracheal intubation of adult patients.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of hospital inpatient experience.
- Graduate of an approved program of Respiratory Therapy.
- Valid New York State Respiratory Therapy license.
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- BLS/CPR certification.
- Strongly recommended: NRP and ACLS certification.
