THE ROLE: We are seeking a skilled Retail Construction Cost Analyst to estimate costs for Retail Remodel and Rebuild Projects. In this role, you will analyze project specifications, blueprints, and relevant documentation to provide accurate cost estimates, ensuring projects remain financially viable and adhere to budget constraints.
- Project Evaluation: Assess project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Determine estimated costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services, updating cost data as necessary.
- Quantity Calculation: Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs to determine the material and labor requirements for different project components.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Collaboration: Work with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes.
- Cost Breakdown: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and additional expenses such as permits and inspections.
- Budgeting Support: Assist in developing project budgets and provide cost analysis for financial planning.
- Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and explore alternative materials or methods while ensuring quality is not compromised.
- Bid Proposals: Prepare bid proposals and promptly submit estimates to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, project documents, and communication with clients and subcontractors.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor project costs and provide updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and construction methods to improve estimate accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in Retail Remodel / Retail Ground Up Construction.
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
