What They're Seeking:
•Must possess an active RN license in the state of Kansas.
•Obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
•Additionally, six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours and Compensation:
•Full-time position, working three nights a week from 7pm to 7:30am, with alternating weekends and holidays.
•Salary range varies from $30 to $49 per hour, depending on years of experience. A BSN qualification also offers a pay increase.
•Shift differentials are provided at $2.00 per hour for evenings, $2.50 per hour for nights, and $2.70 per hour for weekends.
•In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is offered, including a sign-on/relocation bonus of either $5,000 for a one-year commitment or $10,000 for a two-year commitment. The hospital also provides $5,000 per year for tuition reimbursement.
•Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients within the hospital healthcare facility, fulfilling the following duties.
•Effectively and consistently utilize AIDET when communicating with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments.
•Warmly greet visitors and guide them to their destinations.
•Collaborate with the Charge Nurse to determine appropriate patient assignments, ensuring a smooth handover from the off-going RN or LPN, and acquiring a unit telephone.
•Maintain and update the patient's White Communication board.
•Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on all assigned patients and document findings in the electronic chart promptly.
•Monitor patients throughout shifts, diligently documenting any changes. Notify healthcare providers as necessary, and keep the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor informed of any patient developments. Stay current on telemetry and update the Step-Down Care Unit about patient changes. Stay vigilant with regards to laboratory and test results.
•Prioritize hourly rounding, working closely with assistive staff, documenting as required, and providing essential patient education.
•Administer prescribed medications, adhering to approved nursing techniques and using Med/Verify.
•Carry out treatments as instructed by physicians and in accordance with nursing standards and policies.
•Educate patients and their families throughout shifts, documenting all educational activities in the electronic flow chart.
Additional Information:
This facility is an acute care hospital with fewer than 50 beds, and it operates as a non-profit organization. The target nurse-to-patient ratio is currently 5:1, but it may be 3-4:1 until the census grows. Depending on patient census, an additional nurse or CNA may be assigned.
