RN Med Surg / Registered Nurse / Nursing opportunity

What we're seeking:
•Valid Kansas RN license required.
•Associate degree of nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
six (6) to twelve (12) months relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work hours and compensation:
•Full-time position, working three nights a week from 7pm to 7:30am. Every other weekend and rotating holidays required.
•Compensation ranges from $30 to $49 per hour, depending on experience. BSN qualification also provides an increase in pay. Additional shift differentials: $2.00 per hour for evenings, $2.50 per hour for nights, $2.70 per hour for weekends.
•We offer a comprehensive benefits package including a sign-on/relocation bonus of $5,000 for a one-year commitment or $10,000 for a two-year commitment, as well as $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement.
Your responsibilities:
•Providing general nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility.
•Utilizing the AIDET method for effective communication with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments.
•Greeting visitors and accompanying them to their destination.
•Coordinating with the Charge Nurse to receive appropriate patient assignments. Gathering information from off-going RN or LPN and obtaining a unit telephone.
•Updating and maintaining the patient's White Communication board.
•Conducting head-to-toe assessments on all assigned patients and documenting them in real-time in the electronic chart.
•Monitoring patients throughout the shift and documenting any changes. Notifying providers if necessary and keeping the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor informed of any patient changes. Keeping the SCU up to date on patient changes. Monitoring lab and test results.
•Performing hourly rounding, coordinating with assistive staff, documenting as required, and providing patient education.
•Administering prescribed medications using approved nursing techniques and Med/Verify.
•Administering treatments as directed by physicians following nursing standards and policies.
•Educating patients and families throughout the shift and documenting the education in the electronic flow chart.
Additional information:
Our facility is an acute care hospital with under 50 beds, and we are a not-for-profit organization. The target nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, but it may be 3-4:1 until our census grows. Depending on the number of patients, you may have another nurse or CNA working alongside you.
