Requirements:
- Active RN license in the state of Kansas
- Completion of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Hours and Compensation:
- Full-time position: Three-night shifts per week from 7pm to 7:30am with rotation of weekends and holidays
- Salary range: $30-$49 per hour, dependent on years of experience. Bonus available for candidates with a BSN degree. Shift differentials include $2.00/hr for evenings, $2.50/hr for nights, and $2.70/hr for weekends
- A comprehensive benefits package including a sign-on/relocation bonus of either $5,000 for a one-year commitment or $10,000 for a two-year commitment. Additionally, $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement is provided
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing care to patients in a hospital healthcare facility
- Utilize AIDET in daily communication with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments
- Greet visitors and escort them to their destinations
- Coordinate with the Charge Nurse to determine appropriate patient assignment, obtain bedside reports, and a unit telephone
- Update and maintain the patient's White Communication board
- Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all assigned patients and document in the electronic chart in real-time
- Monitor patients throughout the shift, document changes, and notify providers or supervisors as necessary. Keep the relevant departments informed
- Conduct hourly rounding, coordinating with assistive staff, documenting as required, and providing patient education
- Administer prescribed medications using approved nursing techniques and Med/Verify
- Administer treatments as directed by physicians and nursing standards and policies
- Educate patients and their families throughout the shift and document the information on the electronic flow chart
Additional Information:
We are a not-for-profit acute care hospital with under 50 beds. Our target nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, but it may be 3-4:1 until our patient census grows. Depending on the census, you may have the support of another nurse or a CNA.
