Job Description

• The role of the registered nurse is to act as the healthcare team leader, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered care with a focus on achieving desired outcomes.
• Utilize comprehensive assessments to identify and document patient needs in areas such as physical, nutritional, psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, cultural, educational, and rehabilitative
• Develop and communicate appropriate care plans and interventions to the patient and healthcare team
• Deliver age-appropriate care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria for patients in various age groups
• Provide patient and family education to encourage healthy behaviors, support recovery, and involve them in care decisions
• Regularly assess and document patient responses and progress towards desired outcomes
• Collaborate and coordinate patient care activities with other healthcare team members
• Carry out physicians' orders accurately and efficiently, seeking clarification when necessary
• Promptly report adverse changes in patient condition to the appropriate parties
• Identify and report adverse drug reactions in a timely manner
• Manage patient pain effectively through appropriate interventions
• Administer blood and blood products safely, monitoring for transfusion reactions and taking appropriate measures if a reaction occurs
• Ensure safe and efficient use of patient care equipment
• Promote and follow standard precautions for infection control
• Achieve stated job performance goals

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Valid California Registered Nurse License
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
