The Orthopedics RN Nurse plays a vital role in providing quality nursing care to patients. They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care based on individual patient needs. They collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Assess and determine appropriate standards of care for patients

Provide patient/family health education and support

Assess patient progress and document in the clinical record

Coordinate patient care activities with the healthcare team

Carry out physicians' orders accurately and efficiently

Communicate any changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals

Recognize adverse drug reactions and report them accordingly

Assess and manage patient pain appropriately

Administer blood and blood products and monitor for transfusion reactions

Utilize patient care equipment safely and efficiently

Follow standard precautions and infection control principles

Achieve job performance goals
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Registered Nurse License in Alaska
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
Ideal Candidate:

At least 1 year of recent experience working as an RN in an acute care unit in an accredited hospital

Able to work day shifts or full-time position
