Our company is a renowned leader in Site Development, Bridge, Highway, and other Transportation Construction projects. We are currently seeking a skilled Highway Operations Manager to join our team in Charlotte, NC.

As the Highway Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple foremen, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure production goals are met and safety standards are maintained. You will work closely with project management to supervise superintendents, foremen, and employees. Additionally, you will manage and direct a team of superintendents, foremen, equipment, and subcontractors to drive productivity and maintain a safe working environment.

• Create comprehensive plans and reports to update schedules
• Develop work plans and create 2-week schedule look-aheads
• Set and achieve production goals
• Effectively communicate plans, safety measures, and schedules at weekly meetings
• Have a deep understanding of plans and specifications to provide training to others
• Analyze operations and methods to identify more efficient and safer approaches
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, managers, and colleagues
• Ensure proper housekeeping in work areas, trucks, and trailers
• Understand daily and monthly cost reports and projections

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience in heavy highway, road construction (minimum 5+ years)
• Experience in managing heavy highway, road projects ($5M+)
• Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to think independently and solve problems efficiently
• OSHA Competent Person certification
• Must have a clean driving record
