Rotating Equipment Engineer

Location: Pasadena, TX

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Create and implement a comprehensive Maintenance program for rotating equipment at local sites in compliance with company policies and regulations.

Ø Ensure that the Maintenance program adheres to industry guidelines and continuously updates according to the latest Maintenance Guidelines provided by Corporate HES Risk Engineering.

Ø Collaborate with various departments to optimize rotating equipment care and work practices, updating maintenance and equipment procedures as needed.

Ø Develop, track, and communicate action plans for Maintenance tasks and provide regular reports on the program's status to management.

Ø Coordinate and arrange contract services for Maintenance activities as needed and relay employee concerns to appropriate management.

Ø Ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and standards by reviewing facility rotating equipment activities related to manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, and operation.

Ø Conduct audits to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards for the elements of the Maintenance program.

Ø Support Corporate HES Risk Engineering and Insurance audits when necessary.

Ø Stay up-to-date with company and government regulations and maintain knowledge of industry rules and best practices related to rotating equipment.

Ø Evaluate capital project scopes and vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.

Ø Perform failure mode analyses to identify high-risk units and support design changes to mitigate failures.

Ø Assist in training and coaching hourly personnel in repairs and preventive maintenance techniques.

Ø Stay updated on industry practices in rotating equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation to ensure program success.

Ø Acquire and analyze vibration data to troubleshoot and repair rotating equipment.

Ø Establish a mean-time-between-failures program for critical rotating equipment and ensure its implementation and monitoring.

REQUIREMENTS:

v Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in plant maintenance or plant engineering roles.

v Thorough understanding of industry standards and codes related to mechanical systems and rotating equipment.

v Experience in the design and maintenance of various rotating equipment, including failure analysis, is highly desirable.

Preference given to candidates with experience in vibration acquisition and analysis.

Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with a working knowledge of SAP.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
