Rotating Equipment Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Ø Create, develop, and execute the Rotating Equipment Maintenance (REM) program for two local facilities, following company guidelines, codes, and government regulations.

Ø Ensure consistency and compliance of REM program guidelines with the latest Maintenance Guidelines maintained by Corporate HES Risk Engineering, manufacturers, and industry standards.

Ø Collaborate with maintenance, production, engineering, and other departments to enhance rotating equipment maintenance and work practices. Improve maintenance and equipment procedures and manage inventory of spare parts for efficient equipment upkeep.

Ø Develop, track, update, and communicate action plans related to REM tasks.

Ø Provide regular reports on the status of the REM program to plant management.

Ø Coordinate contract services support for REM program activities when needed. Address employee concerns regarding REM tasks to appropriate supervisors and managers.

Ø Review facility rotating equipment activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, standards, and procedures for manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, and operation.

Ø Conduct formal and informal audits of REM program elements to ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards.

Ø Support and coordinate Corporate HES Risk Engineering and Insurance audits as necessary.

Ø Stay up-to-date with company and government rules and regulations.

Ø Evaluate capital project scopes and vendor proposals for acquiring new equipment.

Ø Conduct failure mode analyses to identify units with high failure risks and support design changes for improvement.

Ø Assist in training and coaching hourly personnel in repairs and preventative maintenance activities.

Ø Keep updated on industry practices related to rotating equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation to support the success of the REM program.

Ø Maintain or obtain certification in vibration acquisition and analysis to assist in troubleshooting and repairing rotating equipment.

Ø Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate a mean-time-between-failures program for critical rotating equipment across the sites.


v Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience in plant maintenance or plant engineering.

v Thorough familiarity with industry standards and other relevant codes concerning mechanical systems and rotating equipment.

v Preferred background in the design and maintenance of various rotating equipment and experience with failure analysis.

v Preferred experience in vibration acquisition and analysis.

v High proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and a good working knowledge of SAP.

v Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
