Job Title: Safety and Regulatory Compliance Engineer

Salary: $65-85K
Job Summary of the Safety and Regulatory Compliance Engineer: The Safety and Regulatory Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, as well as regulatory requirements within the organization. This role includes developing and implementing safety programs, conducting audits and inspections, investigating incidents, and providing training to employees. The engineer collaborates with various departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications of the Safety and Regulatory Compliance Engineer:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards and ensure compliance.
- Investigate and document workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop corrective action plans.
- Provide safety training and education to employees to ensure awareness and adherence to protocols.
- Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
- Design and deliver engaging safety training programs, workshops, and seminars for employees.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify specific safety training needs and customize programs accordingly.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety training programs and recommend improvements.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to discussions on safety initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and conducting drills.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs to meet ISO standards.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure ISO compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with external auditors and certification bodies during ISO audits.
- Stay updated with ISO standards and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for ISO compliance.
Responsibilities of the Safety and Regulatory Compliance Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in safety administration and regulatory compliance.
- Exposure to environmental and quality initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and ISO standards.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP) and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate employees.
- Proficient in using safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
