Plant EHS Manager

We are seeking an experienced Plant EHS Manager to lead all health, safety, and environmental initiatives at a mid-sized manufacturing plant. This position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, with a strong focus on employee engagement and safety culture development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the site lead for all safety and health initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

• Drive a proactive, behavior-based safety culture through coaching, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Develop and deliver safety programs, training sessions, and communications that promote ownership and accountability among employees

• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions as needed

• Provide guidance to leadership and employees on safe work practices, hazard identification, and root cause analysis

• Manage environmental responsibilities including waste handling and water compliance (permitting experience not required)

• Maintain safety and environmental documentation and reporting in accordance with regulatory and company standards

• Collaborate with plant leadership to integrate safety into daily operations and long-term planning

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or science-related field is required

• Minimum of 6 years of safety and environmental experience in a plant-level role

• Proven background in heavy manufacturing environments such as steel foundries, metal forming, or automotive production is required

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and coach employees at all levels

• Experience developing and leading behavioral safety programs and employee training

• Solid understanding of environmental compliance related to waste and water management
