Safety Manager

This role is specifically for the 2nd shift, from 4:30pm to 12:30am, and involves supervising a team of 2 to 4 associates. Responsibilities:

• Deliver on-the-job training to associates across all Processing Departments on subjects such as hazardous communication, safety, and ergonomics. This includes both new associate orientation and ongoing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) paperwork.
• Perform daily JSA audits, documenting findings, corrective actions, and identifying re-training needs. Communicate this information to the Safety and Operations teams.
• Assist in the investigation of accidents and near misses by interviewing associates and gathering relevant information.
• Attend regular safety meetings, PSM meetings, and any other safety-related gatherings.
• Address associates' safety concerns and needs promptly and effectively, in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
• Take and distribute meeting notes for the Safety Committee meetings, supporting the Safety Manager.
• Provide oversight and training for OSL positions on both the Day and Night Shifts.
• Support the completion of Corporate Safety Audit and paperwork documentation.
• Maintain oversight for the Housekeeping Group to ensure a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements:

• Preferably hold a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field. In-progress safety-related degrees will also be considered.
• Relevant experience of 3-5 years is necessary.
• Excellent communication, mathematical, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate strong supervisory and interpersonal abilities.
